Call for Nominations: Drukier Prize in Children's Health Research 2020

The Gale and Ira Drukier Institute for Children’s Health at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City is proud to announce a call for nominations for the Sixth Annual Gale and Ira Drukier Prize in Children’s Health Research. This award honors an early-career pediatrician who, through his/her basic, translational or clinical research program, has made important contributions toward improving the health of children and/or adolescents. Research related to public health or outcomes is welcome. The Drukier Prize consists of a $10,000 unrestricted prize and a reception in honor of the awardee in spring, 2021. The recipient will also be invited to present a research seminar during the award ceremony.

Announcement of Awardee:

December 15th, 2020

Nominations

  • Candidates must be nominated by an appropriate institutional official (dean, department chair or institute director)
  • Maximum of two nominations per institution
  • Nomination materials (submit as single pdf):
  1. Candiate's CV
  2. Institutional nomination letter describing the impact of the nominee's research in children's health
  3. Copies of the nominee's five most significant publications with a statement describing their contribution to the work

Candidate Eligibility

  • Must hold an MD or MD/PhD degree
  • Must have completed clinical pediatric training
  • Must hold an academic appointment at a medical school, research institute or academic health center
  • Should have begun his/her first faculty position(or equivalent) no earlier than July 1, 2010

Evaluation Criteria

  • Significance and/or impact of research in the field of pediatrics/children's health
  • Number of high quality publications
  • Receipt of institutional/national awards
  • Commitment to training future scientists
  • Innovation of research approach
  • Recognition among peers for leadership in the field
