Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in Neurology
Praveen Raju, MD, PhD is a pediatric neurologist with expertise in developmental neurobiology, sophisticated mouse genetics techniques, and pediatric brain tumor biology. Brain tumors are the leading cause of cancer-related death in children. The Raju lab utilizes sophisticated mouse genetics approaches to study pediatric brain tumors, with a special focus on medulloblastoma, the most common malignant brain tumor of childhood. The goals of his group’s research are to not only identify the molecular underpinnings of these pediatric brain tumors, but also to identify novel treatment approaches to improve overall survival and minimize toxicities of current therapies in children afflicted with these devastating tumors.
